CAMSUR TRIP: Laing Pizza at Camsur Watersports Complex CWC

Sunday, April 5, 2009
My trip to Camarines Sur happened when my friend Alex proposed a suggestion to visit our friend Eunice who lives in Naga City. I have always been interested to check out the famed CWC Camarines Watersports Complex so I gave in. Aside from the fact that we needed to see our friend Eunice before she flies to Europe I was also lured into finally trying out the authentic Laing Pizza.

It was our first day in CamSur when we decided to go straight to CWC after checking in to our hotel. It was quite a long travel from Naga City proper to CWC so we took a bus instead of tricycle we initially thought of. Traveling dusty road through a bus devoid of air condition is quite challenging for me but it was fun nonetheless.

Cyma Greek Taverna

Monday, March 16, 2009

A month after I resigned from my previous job, I visited my friends at Eastwood Libis to have dinner with them. Fortunately, Eastwood Mall was already on it's operation at that time so we got a chance to dine at Cyma Greek Taverna.

Although they have branches around the metro, it was actually my first time to try what their resto is all about. And I could say that it was such a good experience for me.
While some of the food choices are not yet available, the waiters are polite enough to inform us in a manner that we wouldn't be upset. It is understandable that they are not yet serving everything that is on their menu because after all, it is just their soft opening.

Burgoo at Gateway Mall

Monday, March 9, 2009

It was one of those rare moments when Jo-anne, Anjo, and I could spend a Saturday afternoon together to catch up with each other. That afternoon at Gateway Araneta Cubao we were so overwhelmed to finally see each other we can't even decide where to eat.

Since I am the only smoker in the group and it was too hot outside, I forgo the idea of eating somewhere with a smoking area, so we head inside of the mall instead.

It was Jo-anne who suggested Burgoo because she is craving for spare ribs that time. Good thing we all agree because we really did enjoy the food!

Their Baby Back Ribs Platter comes with grilled shrimp, fries, and corn on a cob. I don't know if we are just so hungry that time or do they just have a small serving of this platter? It's probably because it is so delicious we couldn't help but to crave for more.

Their Chicken Pops is so crispy but it is tender on the inside. Good combination with their garlic sauce, we asked for more.

I am not a big fan of thick crust pizza, but surprisingly, since the toppings are so good, I did enjoy this one as well.

On deciding what to drink, Anjo chose the Coffee Shake which resembles to Frappucino from Starbucks, Jo-anne settled on very summery Watermelon Shake, while me on the other hand was so intrigued by the shake on their menu they call Elephant Charge. It taste good. It taste like banana shake with a twist.

Also, it is a good thing that they have this innovative idea of providing their customers crayons and sheet of big paper on the table so that they can doodle away while they are waiting for the food to be served.

All in all, it was a delightful summery afternoon with good food and good service from Burgoo's Gateway Mall.
