When it comes to affordable and good quality Japanese food, there are two restaurant which made it to the top of my list, one is Omakase and the other one is Kimono Ken. These two, I consider as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Manila that are budget friendly.
While they are known for serving enticing Japanese food for less, Kimono Ken does not compromise quality, hence, every dining experience do not disappoint.
Just like Omakase, their line of sushi and sashimi are all rave-worthy, but when it comes to my favorite Chirashidon, I tend to favor Kimono Ken more

Packed with fresh Maguro (Tuna), Shake (Salmon), Kani (Crabstick), Tamago (Egg Omelette), and Uni 9Sea Urchin nestled on soft Japanese rice, Chirashidon (Php315) is one of Japanese dish I wouldn't mind consuming every now and then. Served with a small bowl of equally tasty Miso soup, this Japanese treat is an instant answer to my cravings.
Kimono Ken's Katsudon (Php165) is one of my favorites on their menu. The tender deep fried breaded pork loin topped with egg, mushroom, and nori strips in sweet soya sauce goes perfectly well with the fluffy white rice. It's a perfect choice to satisfy hunger at a very reasonable price.
Of the different salads that Kimono Ken offers, it is their Chicken Teriyaki Salad (Php 200) that really got me raving. Crispy strips of boneless fried chicken with mixed lettuce and ripe mango strips topped with special dressing and caviar. The degree of likeness that I have for this salad commensurate to that of my love for Cyma's Watermelon and Lamb Salad.
Other items on their menu that I highly recommend includes their line of sishi, maki, and sashimi. Their shoyuramen is also good as well as their beef teriyaki, wagyu beef teppan, and sukiyaki among many others. Japanese food are known to be expensive, but I we are lucky that we have restaurants like Kimono Ken which offers affordable Japanese food that are equally satisfying.
