Ala Carte Menu at Seven Corners Restaurant of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria (An IHG Hotel)

November 18, 2023

Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria Manila is one of those hotels we usually stayed at whenever we need to do errands for several days in Ortigas area.  Because of that, Crowne Plaza's Seven Corners Restaurant is always the first choice when dining - not only because it is convenient but because I honestly think they serve good food and their service is always stellar.

While Seven Corners Restaurant is known for their buffet service, their options for ala carte offerings are nothing short of amazing too.

Located at the 3rd floor of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria (an IHG Hotel), Seven Corners Restaurant is the in-house restaurant of Crowne Plaza Manila and Holiday Inn Galleria while their Fab Restaurant is still close.

My family and I have dined at Seven Corners Restaurant for quite a few times already and every time we're in the area, we still get excited at the thought of enjoying our favorites.

Every meal always starts with complimentary freshly baked dinner roll and butter.  My 9 year old nephew who loves bread is quite a fan of this dinner roll and I understand because it's not the usual run-of-the-mill bread - it's flavorful, you can eat it on its own.

There are several starters to choose from but my favorite is Truffle Wild Mushroom (Php246) I rarely opt for a soup prior to a meal because it fills me up easily, but for this one, I could easily make an exemption. The rich savory flavor of mushroom is on point and the lovely smell of truffle is intoxicatingly good. It would be perfect with a different bread, because the one it comes with is a bread stick that’s way too hard and totally not a good combination for such an impeccable soup.

Mee Goreng (Php232) Easily one of my favorite noodle dishes and I am glad that Seven Corner’s version of it is so good, I cannot remember a time it didn’t graced our table every time we visit. Its glossy, sweet and savory sauce with chicken strips, shrimp, and fried egg on top blend perfectly with the egg noddles. I am honestly craving for it while writing this post.

My father’s favorite when dining at Seven Corners are their salmon dishes. First one is the Salmon Cauliflower (Php714) It is basically seasoned pan-seared salmon served with cauliflower rice over saffron sauce. I cannot count how many times my father have enjoyed this salmon dish and I cannot blame him. The pan-seared salmon is always perfectly cooked and seasoned. I just wish there could be more cauliflower rice because there’s just not enough of it for a meal. The saffron sauce rounds up the entire flavor together making it a perfect meal.

The second salmon dish is the Salmon in Tamarind Miso (Php688) which is basically grilled salmon fillet and salmon head with taro mash, baby red radish, and botchy in a hearty tamarind miso broth that’s perfectly sour and savory. It comes with steamed rice that’s a perfect combination with this soupy dish.

I am not really a big fan of their Seafood Pho (Php357) but my brother-in-law loves it. It is essentially thick rice noodles and variety of seafood such as shrimp, salmon belly, mussels poured with aromatic soup. The soup tasted like basil to me more than anything. Not bad but not really my favorite.

Their Surf and Turf Sanip (Php571) is one of those which I highly recommended. It’s very simple but packed with flavor. Not the usual surf and turf that some of us are used to but this one is nothing short of amazing. It is essentially a delicious ceviche tuna in coconut cream on a bed of grilled pork. Downright delicious, it can be enjoyed as it is but for me, it is a good beer companion.

The Hickory Baby Back Ribs (Php536) is grilled pork rib glazed with hickory barbecue sauce, served with corn and a side of greens. Flavorful and fork-tender, I remember my nephew enjoying it well.

Merlot braised lamb with cherry tomatoes, carrots, and haricot vests served over risotto, Seven Corner’s Braised Lamb Shank (Php759) is something one can write home about. Every strand of the meat is filled with flavor and its fork-tenderness is also remarkable. The risotto and veggies are lovely addition that completes a dish that’s not easy to forget.

If you are into an explosion of flavor, the Tandoori Chicken (Php313) could be a perfect option for you. It’s a special marinated chicken follies cooked in tandoori oven, then served with naan bread and plain yoghurt. I must say that Seven Corners is one of those hotel restaurants that’s really good when it comes to Indian cuisine, so I wasn't surprised that their tandoori chicken's good.

Half Peri Chicken (Php643) Grilled chicken marinated in homemade Peri-Peri sauce served with corn cob, this dish is both aesthetically pleasing to the eye and pleasant to the palate too. It is good for sharing, but when hungry or when one has a big appetite, this meal in all its deliciousness glory can be easily finished.

Seven Corner’s Bagnet Kare-Kare (Php286) is a crispy deep-fried pork belly in kare-kare sauce (peanut sauce) served with steamed rice. My sister loves this dish and every time it’s served, it always looks like a work of art. You can never go wrong with the combination of bagnet and kare-kare, especially not when you’re in Seven’s Corner. One of those dishes I recommend.

The Short Ribs Adobar (Php679) is marinated beef short ribs simmered with aromatics, spices, bay leaves, soy sauce, and vinegar. The flavor leans more on the sour side of the spectrum. I love adobo but while this Short Ribs Adobar is good, I prefer a different flavor-profile when it comes to my adobo - I want mine, savory with hint of sweetness.

Slow cooked beef cheeks with cauliflower puree and salsa verde, Seven Corner’s Sirk Beef Cheeks (Php701) is one of those which I highly recommend. Very tender and flavorful, it’s a sinful dish if you are like me, who is trying to limit meat intake. But I kid you not, it’s well worth the extra work out time just to compensate.

The Shrimp Phoboy (Php402) is a deep fried cornmeal coated shrimps with cucumbers and tomatoes with homemade cocktail sauce sandwich in between baguette bread and served with fries. I find the bread they used to be so hard it ruined what supposed to be a nice sandwich. Not really my favorite, especially that I’ve had better elsewhere.

Their Club Sandwich (Php444) on the other hand, I enjoyed on several occasions. It’s a triple decker sandwich with bacon, chicken, cheddar, cheese, lettuce, fried egg, and mayonnaise. It is served with French fries which makes it a filling meal in itself.

The Banh Mi (Php295) is an Asian sauce marinated chicken on a baguette bread and served with fries. I haven’t tried this one because the bread looks so hard it reminded me of their Phoboy. But my brother-in-law said it was decent enough.

From the healthy corner of the menu, we got to try the Caprese Bruschetta (Php446) Tomatoes and basil salad over grilled baguette, topped with burrata cheese and drizzled with balsamic reduction and olive oil. It was good, something I would have again when craving for something simple and healthy.

We also enjoyed their Falafel (Php183) It’s a chickpea croquette served with flour tortilla, hummus, and sriracha. I love falafel, my brother-in-law is amazing at making falafel sandwich that is why I have a standard when it comes to it. I find Seven Corner’s version a tad mild and mushy, but not bad at all especially when craving for something healthy but filling.

I have a kid nephew hence, we’re also able to try some meals from the Seven Corner’s kids menu.

The Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Php218) is downright simple. Lightly grilled compared to the usual grilled cheese sandwich smothered with indecent amount of butter and grilled to golden brown perfection. But it’s fine since it’s a kids meal. It also comes with French fries. My nephew got his appetite from me so he finds the serving a tad small for him.

The Crispy Chicken Fingers & Fries (Php162) is my nephew’s favorite. It’s like a side dish to whatever else he’s having.

He also likes the Burger Slider (Php202) the beef patty I was told, was juicy and flavorful. It’s served with fries which my nephew also loves.

For dessert, gelato is a constant favorite. There are three flavors to choose from the menu, Fragola, Chocolate, and Vanilla Gelato (Php81 per scoop). All of which are good but my heart beats for chocolate.

Seven Corners also boasts of wide variety of cocktails and other alcoholic drinks.

Aside from great tasting food, another thing that makes my family go back to Seven Corners Restaurant again and again is the impeccable service. One of our favoite food attendants is Almeera. I kid you not, Almeera never fails to make us feel so welcome and well taken care of.
