Tasting Memories at Barrio Fiesta Greenhills

August 14, 2010
-->
When was the last time you dined at Barrio Fiesta? That was the question we asked ourselves during our foodies get-together at the new Barrio Fiesta Greenhills. Most of us agreed that it was a long time ago, but no one has forgotten the good food, rattan chairs and the rondallas that used to be the trademarks of the resto.
-->
Known as the restaurant which invented Crispy Pata and popularized Kare-Kare, Barrio Fiesta has always been close to Filipino hearts. Today, more than 50 years later, the same grandeur of food and warm hospitality that welcomed the Filipino palate are still present. And this time, Barrio Fiesta Greenhills bid adieu to its old style to embrace an improvement that goes beyond typical Filipino dining experience.
-->
While maintaining its distinct classic aura, Barrio Fiesta Greenhills now introduces a fully revamped and modernized interior that would still give its customer the warm feeling of being at-home while savoring delectable meals that the resto can offer.
And now, let me share with you some of the delectable meals that graced our table prepared by Barrio Fiesta Greenhills.

Crispy Pata

A visit at Barrio Fiesta Greenhills wouldn’t be complete without having Crispy Pata. And since they are the ones who invented this dish, expect that it will be the best Crispy Pata you will ever have.

Kare-kare

Since they use their own to-die-for home made peanut butter, the distinct taste of Barrio Fiesta Greenhill’s Kare-Kare is what separates it from the rest. Their seafood kare-Kare is equally good, and as a seafood lover myself, I enjoyed it immensely.

-->Sizzling Sisig sa Aligue
A mouth watering crispy pork sisig topped with crab fat was one of the reasons why I cancelled my previous appointments to attend this food festivity. And I'm glad to say I did not have any regrets.

Kuhol na Gata
I am not an Escargot fan, but theirs is so good I cannot help but have a second helping.

Bicol Express
-->I love how they were able to put big chunks of meat without overpowering chillis which are the main star of this dish.

Adobong Kang-kong
-->
A simple Filipino dish, enhanced with a Barrio Fiesta twist. Its simplicity is what makes it special delivered in a way that sets it apart from your usual Adobong Kang-kong.

Bouillaibaisse
-->
One of my favorite dishes, not just because of the seafood, but because the soup is soothing to the palate.

Chicharon Bulaklak
-->Another deliciously sinful dish that graced our table. A sin I won’t mind committing again and again.

Kilawing Tanigue
-->
The good thing about this dish is that the vinegar does not overpower the taste of the fish, it just gives a little kick that leaves you wanting for more.

Pakbet Sa Baboy
-->
Barrio Fiesta's Pakbet is the best I have ever tasted. The usual array of vegetables with large chunks of pork, mixed and balanced to suit the Filipino taste bud. It was further enhanced by its thick sauce and the Barrio Fiesta Special Bagoong.

Sinalab
Now, this combination of chargrilled seafood, chicken, meat, and veggies were downright simple yet, enticingly delicious.

-->Aside from the Ala Carte, they also offer Value Meal which comprise of Lechon Kawali, Kare-Kare, Rice, and Sinigang.

-->For the dessert, we were served with Halo-Halo, Tiramisu, Ty’s Mango Melt, and Vin’s Chocolate Ganache. Although Ty’s Mango Melt was the one that captured my heart, everything was a stellar on its own.

The improvements that Barrio Fiesta Greenhills has made is surely a precursor to further enhance delectable dining experience of Filipino families after all these years. Although it now exudes a modernized aura, its menu still assaults the senses with the perennial unfolding of flavors it has always been known for.
Filipinos basically grew up with Barrio Fiesta. It has been with us serving good food for years now, and so, I could say that dining at Barrio Fiesta Greenhills is like tasting memories, only better.

  1. It's been a long time since I last ate at Barrio Fiesta but what I'll never forget is their Crispy Pata!!! We always get Crispy Pata for take away, especially during special occasions, so we can enjoy them at home!

    Would love to share this to our Filipino readers in Foodista, I hope you don't mind? Just add the foodista widget for Filipino food at the end of this post, and that should do it! :-)

    Salamat kabayan!
