Tupperware Brands Kitchen Discovery Class at Center For Culinary Arts Manila

October 08, 2011

Couple of weeks ago, my sister Eichel of Eichellery and I got an invite from Tupperware Philippines to participate with their Kitchen Discovery Class at Oceana Restaurant in Mall Of Asia in cooperation with Center For Culinary Arts Manila.

We were so excited for the event but due to the typhoon that happened recently, the event was rescheduled a week after.  Unfortunately, work and other prior commitment made it impossible for me to attend the event.  Good thing my sister’s schedule was cleared.  Since she is a photography blogger, she thought that it is more apt to write about the event here on my blog, thus, she suggested that she’ll cover it and be my guest blogger instead.

This is the first time that I am going to have a guest blogger here at YedyLicious, and I am happy that it’s my sister, and it’s for the brand that I believe in.

Truth be told, we grew up using Tupperware items in our household.  My mother has always been a fanatic of the brand.  When the invite stated that Tupperware is going to launch a new member in the family, I thought that it’s going to be another breakthrough that will stay with Filipino household for years to come.  That’s what my sister learned during the event, and then some.

Without further blabbing, here’s my sister’s take on her experience during the Tupperware and CCA’s Kitchen Discovery Class.

Tupperware and CCA’s Kitchen Discovery Class

Tupperware + CCA Kitchen Discovery Class was held at The Oceana Restaurant in SM Mall of Asia last October 4, 2011.  I arrived early at the venue but everything was already set up and so I was asked to register.  I find it clever that instead of our signatures, we were asked to describe Tupperware instead.

While I am excited with the hands on cooking segment of the event, wherein bloggers get to participate, I am more enthusiastic to know something about the new Tupperware product that they are going to launch, The Tupperware Speedy Chopper.

Ms. Cris Nivera, Marketing Manager of Tupperware

Ms. Cris Nivera, Marketing Manager of Tupperware introduced to us The Tupperware Speedy Chopper.  Speedy Chopper is a handy product ideal for cutting different types of fresh herbs and small vegetable.  We were lucky to have been given a chance to bring home our own Tupperware Speedy Chopper, and so my sister Yedy has been cooking up a storm recently to test it.  So far, she’s very happy about it and in no time, she’ll be writing about it as well.

Before the hands on activity, three CCA Chefs had a cooking demonstration using Tupperware items, including the new Speedy Chopper.  They prepared pasta, salad, Spanish rice with Cajun fish, choco mallow fudge cake, and mojito.

Chef Melisa, Chef Gigi, and Chef Caroline

All of the participants listened intently because after the demonstration, it’s our turn to bring out all the cooking talent we could muster to prepare the same dishes they made.

After the cooking demos by the chefs, that is when the real fun begun since participants gets the chance to prepare dishes using Tupperware products.  I belonged to Group B with other three gorgeous people, Ronald, Ryan, and Heart who were easy and fun to work with. Obviously, we had a blast. I was tasked to cook the Spanish Rice and since I love rice mixtures, I had fun doing it.

Group B's Food Presentation

Tupperware’s Speedy Chopper was indeed a big help since I don’t have to chop the ingredients that I used using knife, therefore, saving me from doing the hard work.  With all the Tupperware products which we used in preparing the dishes, we were done in no time!

We are thankful that although we lacked when it comes to presentation, in terms of taste and team work, we were awarded as the winner! We were awarded Tupperware Reheatable Lunch Box Set which I am now using at work.

The recipes that we followed were all delicious if executed properly, but the remarkable thing about the whole cooking experience was the fact that Tupperware products played a major role in making the task easier and fun.

It’s not as if the delicious dishes we prepared were not enough, we were treated to a delicious dinner which I loved.

I could say that it was one of the most enjoyable and successful events that I have attended.  Center for Culinary Arts were generous in imparting their culinary knowledge, while Tupperware still never fails to amaze us with their latest addition to their family.

As mentioned, my sister Yedy will be sharing with you soon her take on the new Tupperware Speedy Chopper.  Meanwhile, I would like to thank Tuperware Philippines and Center For Culinary Arts for such an awesome afternoon of wonderful experience.
