Mr. Choi Kitchen at Robinsons Galleria

May 07, 2012

Mr. Choi Kitchen located at Robinson's Galleria used to be one of the restaurants I frequent to during the time when I was still working in Ortigas Center.  They serve good dimsum which suited my liking, hence, the frequency of my visits during those days were slightly beyond recommended.

Known as one of the best traditional Chinese restaurant in Manila which serves authentic Chinese cuisine, Mr. Choi Kitchen has been in the list of most favored restaurants by most of the foodies I know.

When moving on to a new job commensurate to parting with some of the restaurants in Ortigas area which I regularly visit, my affair with Mr. Choi's dimsum was put into a halt. Recently, I was able to unite again with my favorite during some random snack meet up with a friend.
It was fortunate as my comeback trip to Mr. Choi does not disappoint for the quality of the dimsum has not been tarnished nor compromised all these years. I did get the same satisfaction I used to get during the time when I feel as if there is nothing important in this world than my relationship with their Dimsum Combination.

Mr. Choi's Sweet and Sour Pork is also one of my favorite. The crispiness of the pork with its juice oozing out upon every bite blends well with the sauce adorned by chunks of slightly crunchy variants of vegetable.

I am not really crazy about their noodles since I find it watery and a tad bland for my taste, but my friend talked me into having their Birthday Noodle which happens to be his favorite.  Apparently, while there's a radical improvement on the taste, it still didn't make a fan out of me. I would have appreciate it more if they play generous on their toppings like that of Gloria Maris. But my friend seemed to enjoy it still, so I guess it's just me.

Yang Chow Fried Rice of most Chinese Restaurants I have been too tasted rather the same, but I love the fact Mr. Choi's isn't overwhelmingly oily which is my usual dilemna about fried rice. I love pairing it with the sweet and sour pork, so this is also a staple when I am at Mr. Choi's.

I think I will never get tired of Mr. Choi Kitchen's dimsum, provided that they do not change its quality. There are other recommended dishes at this restaurant which is worth going back to but I think I will think twice before settling for their noodles again. I guess I have not tried their noodles which can change my opinion about it, so I will still definitely go back.
