Dencio's Bar and Grill: All-Day Breakfast Meals and All-Time Favorite Filipino Cuisines

June 14, 2013
I would not say that it is purely a force of habit byproduct that whenever I am asked to name top Filipino Restaurants in Manila, Dencio's would definitely be included. Truth be told, Dencio's Bar and Grill has been one of those restaurants I would go to whenever I am craving for downright delicious Filipino food even before my blogging days. Although tagged as bar and grill as its name suggests, Dencio's for me is definitely more than that.

Serving delectable Filipino cuisine fit for sharing among family and friends, Dencio's I must say is already an institution in itself. I already lost count how many times I have been to Dencio's, but what I am sure of is that those visits hold some of the best memories I have with friends and loved ones. I guess they have been in the business for too long that they have witnessed most of Filipinos' special moments shared over the great food they offer.

Recent visit to Dencio's Bar and Grill located at Eastwood City in Libis proved that despite many competitors, this well-loved Filipino restaurant is still up on its game by introducing new promos while still celebrating the goodness of their tried and tested dishes we all loved.

Sisig and Bulalo are two of the default dishes that I personally cannot miss in every visit. Their Bulalo holds the distinct palatable taste of a soup based dish graced with the succulence of tender beef meat, the indulging bone marrow, and the goodness of vegetable that complements everything in the serving. It might be a perfect dish for rainy season, but a dish as good as this can be a perfect soul-satisfying treat regardless the season.

I have had countless of best Sisig in this lifetime and if I were to ask to make a list of top ten best sisig in Manila, Dencio's rendition is definitely included. Why not? it does have the meaty savory taste of pork and the crisp texture that one could ever hope for in their sisig. A well executed dish that goes perfectly well with either a bottle of beer or a bowl of steamed rice.

Although recently launched, Dencio's Sarap Altanghap already acquired bands of followers from all walks of life, particularly those who love eating breakfast meal anytime of the day. The proof of that? they run out of Tapsilog during our visit since people incessantly ordered for it. Good thing though that we got to try their Sweet Garlic Longsilog and Spicy Tocilog. These three all-day breakfast chow are priced at Php159 for ala carte, and Php189 for a meal with choice of regular iced tea, coffee, or hot tea.

Between the two we have tried, it was the Spicy Tocilog which got me raving, considering I am not abig fan of spicy dishes. Despite the kick it still has the distinct sweet taste of tocino which I love. The Sweet Garlic Longsilog on the other hand has the punch of garlic taste that most Pinoys adore.

Aside from Sarap Altanghap, Dencio's  also has a treat for beer-loving diners called Pinoy Beer-Mates. This promo entitles guests to one free pulutan for every 6 bottles of beer and is priced at Php360 only.

Known for executing well-loved dishes meant to complement any alcoholic beverages, Dencio's generosity extend to the Pinoy Beer-Mates promotion by providing great line up for pulutan choices. This includes  Spiced Pork Balingit, Crispy Chicken Skin, Sizzling Atay at Balun-Balunan, Chicken Isaw Sisig, Barbecue Iwi, and Crunchy Kwek-kwek.

Although often overshadowed by great main dishes on the menu, Dencio's line up of Filipino desserts are also well worth the try. Just like the Turon de Sorbetes which boasts of banana fritters made all the more special with local ice cream.

Personally, I feel happy that amidst the competitive market of Filipino restaurants, Dencio's staring the competitive league right straight in its eyes without flinching. Now more than ever, Dencio's still got its spunk to fight for a top spot when it comes to serving great Filipino dishes.
