Beautiful, vibrant, and delicious - these are some of the words on top of my head when thinking about Indian Food. This rich and sophisticatedly spices-laden food is my craving as of late. Good thing here in Metro Manila, we have Greendot Indian Food Catering as one of the trusted Indian food purveyor people can rely on when Indian Food craving hits hard.
Good thing about Greendot Catering is that they do food delivery service, hence you may enjoy an Indian Feast right at the comfort of your own home especially during this time of quarantine. Another good thing, they are vegetarian. And trust me, even if you are not vegetarian like myself, Greendot will still provide you that level of satisfaction only Indian food can provide. Trust me on that.
India is, up to this day one of the countries I have been wanting to visit if only to experience their beautiful culture and fell more in love with their food. Since our current situation dictates that it might not be happening soon, I am glad that we can still enjoy authentic Indian cuisine, all thanks to food businesses such as Greendot.
I have written about Greendot Vegetarian Catering and Food Delivery Service's food way back 2015. And I can still remember how much it made me fell in love with Indian cuisine even more. I remember how I would feel happy when officemates and friends would order their food delivery offerings because they have read it on my blog.
Recently, I have this strong cravings for Indian food loud enough I couldn't quite ignore. I know it was a long shot because of how far my place is from Greendot's location, but heaven is so good because apparently, Greendot offers food delivery service via third party application, hence, they were able to deliver to my place. Heaven bless these good people who made it possible. I am and will always be grateful.
First thing on the list of food my family and I have feasted on from Greendot was their Kadai Paneer (Php300) a type of paneer (cottage cheese) dish laden with rich and delicious gravy made with spicy masala.
Greendot's rendition of this famous Indian dish has an intricate balance of spiciness and richness. This was my favorite among the lot, and you cannot really blame me, with its chunky paneer that blends perfectly well with a perfect gravy, I cannot find anything not to love about this dish.
Next was the Veggie Butter Chicken (Php300) which mimics one of the non-vegetarians well-loved Indian dish, Butter Chicken. This one, I can tell, uses texturized vegetable protein in lieu of the usual chicken meat. It was so good, I couldn't even tell the difference.
Its gravy sauce was so rich and flavorful. My 11yr-old nephew have tried it and fell in love with it thinking it was a chicken nugget dish. Had it not been too spicy for kids as most Indian foods are for those who lacks familiarty, my nephew would have probably finish half of the generous serving in one go.
We also had Greendot's Chola Masala which goes perfectly well with the paratha. I have always been in love with chickpeas, and this Indian dish is if I may say the best chickpea dish in the entire world for me.
The spice-laden gravy was as expected was also flavorful and a treat even if you are to eat it with rice. A bit thinner in consistency compared the two previous dish, but it is not without its own delectable charm that caresses the palate.
We also had Greendot's Paneer Biryani (Php425) an Indian dish well-loved by many including my family. I am crazy about paneer and hands down, Greendot's version of it is one of my favorites.
Its complex flavor lends an exciting feeling every bite, and as you go along, you will be greeted with a heart-warming and soul-satisfying happiness that only a good dish can give.
Of course there were Parathas as well, it was an Indian feast after all. Greendot's Paratha was, in all honesty, one of my favorite Parathas there is. Soft, subtly buttery - it goes well with almost anything from our feast.
But the Raita I deem, was its perfect partner. Raita is a matter of fact a perfect partner for all of the spicy dishes we have feasted on. I appreciate how generous Greendot's Raita when it comes to servings and the vegetable concoction that goes along with it.
The Potato Samosa (Php30 per piece) was also one of the treats all of us enjoyed. It was hearty, it was filling, it was perfect. The potato stuffing was a perfect canvas that let the spices shine including the tamarind chutney sauce it was usually paired with. And the flaky texture of it was so divine to the bite I can still remember how good every bite was, days after it was long gone.
I am a believer of Gulab Jamun. I swear it is and will always be one of my favorite Indian sweet desserts. So simple, so humble, but its flavor was so delicately sweet you would think only a person with good heart could make it.
The Pistachio Mithai was also a lovely treat. Slightly sweet, slightly fudgy, slightly crunchy, and full packed with pistachio flavor that marries a creamy taste to temper everything at bay. I am a chocolate fudge lover but I will always choose Pistachio Mithai over it, in a heartbeat.
The Vegetarian Indian Feast we had by Greendot Vegetarian Catering and Food Delivery Service was one of my favorite feasts I had with my family this year by far. We rarely eat Indian food due to its availability in our area which made the experience even more special.
And as with most vegetarian dishes, the kind of satisfaction that this Indian feast provided for me was something that filled my tummy and satisfied my soul. And with this experience, I would be the one to be sad if any of you my dear readers would not be able to try food at Greendot even once. Trust me, everything was so good I would not be tired of promoting them here on my blog.
