Ca Phe Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant [Quarantine Eats Series | Home Food Delivery]

In continuing to feature great food that I enjoyed during this community quarantine period, I am in a quest to write something about cuisines I love but rarely had the chance to talk about here in my blog. Vietnamese Food takes the spotlight for today's blog. And the nearest Vietnamese Restaurant that offers home food delivery service to where I am right now is Ca Phe Saigon.

Ca Phe Saigon is a Vietnamese Restaurant that offers homemade authentic Vietnamese food and coffee which heirloom recipes were hailed from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in Vietnam. Its farm-to-fork concept promises fresh ingredients in each dishes.

Currently, Ca Phe Saigon has branches in Marikina, Antipolo, and Mandaluyong. They are now accepting dine in customers amidst the pandemic, but since this blog review falls under my Quarantine Food Finds Series, we are still focusing on the home food delivery service side of the business.

For someone who loves vegetables such as myself, Vietnamese cuisine is one of those which can bring bliss. I rarely have the chance to enjoy this particular cuisine due to the availability in our area but I thank good heavens for letting me chance upon one of Ca Phe Saigon's Facebook posts and I am even more thankful that they deliver in our place.

Ca Phe Saigon's menu features variety of Vietnamese dishes. I intentionally took photos of the dish in its microwaveable container so that you may see how it will be presented in the event that you also try their food delivery service. Apparently, they charge Php10 each for the microwaveable container so the prices indicated here may not match to the one they have published on their menu.

Moving right along, here's what we've got.

Ca Phe Saigon's Phở or Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup (Php190 Regular) is the quintessential Vietnamese dish that is both heart-warming and satisfying. This dish is usually served with side of sprouts and basil leaves, but it was already included in the microwaveable container alongside the noodles and other ingredients save for the soup which comes in a separate container. I love that it taste light and clean, and true to its promise, everything tasted fresh.

We also had Ca Phe Saigon's Phở Bo Kho (Php190 Regular) which is basically beef stew fragrant with lemon grass, achuete, and laden with tender pieces of beef. To be honest, all of the components, from the beef slices to the noodles and the vegetables, I do not see anything different that sets it apart from Phở except for the broth which has deeper color and flavor.

I was curious to try Ca Phe Saigon's Bun Cha Gio (Php180 Regular) because I have been hearing a lot of good things about this dish. Lo and behold, as simple as it looks, this one ended up as one of the favorites among the lot that we have ordered. This Vietnamese Dry Noodles with Fried Rolls is a combination of thin rice noodles, Vietnamese fried rolls, shredded lettuce, cucumber, roasted peanuts and then served with a side of special Vietnamese fish sauce.

I swear I could eat this everyday. It was so fresh and flavorful. I could imagine how wonderful its counterpart Bun Thit Cha Gio which is technically called combination as it features your choice of chicken, pork, beef, or seafood alongside the Vietnamese fried rolls. My 11 year old nephew went crazy about this dish!

Another delicious dish was Ca Phe Saigon's Ban Cuon or Steamed Rolls (Php160 Regular) a steamed rolls filled with pork, shrimp, mushroom, and carrot on a bed of shredded lettuce and topped with crisp shallots. It also comes with the special Vietnamese sweet fish sauce. It's savory and somewhat light but highly addicting.

Ca Phe Saigon's Cha Gio or Vietnamese Fried Rolls (Php170 Regular) is your usual fried egg rolls served with lettuce, cucumber, and Vietnamese sweet fish sauce. I find it a bit pricey for its serving portion, but good nonetheless.

Then there's also Ca Phe Saigon's Goi Cuon or Fresh Rolls (Php180) It's a classic fresh rolls filled with rice noodles, lettuce, mint leaves, and your choice among chicken, shrimp and pork, and vegetarian. Prices differs depending on the protein of your choice. It is served with special peanut sauce which makes this dish all the more palatable.

Another classic Vietnamese favorite is the Banh Mi. There are several fillings available such as Pork, Chicken, Egg, Cha Lua, and Beef. I have Ca Phe Saigon's Pork Banh Mi (Php160 Regular) and one bite of it reminded me how much I miss having this delicious sandwich. I love that the baguette was soft and

Lastly, we also had Ca Phe Saigon's Goi Bap Cai (Php170 Regular) which is essentially a cabbage salad that features shredded cabbage, carrots, white onions, fried shallots, spring onions, pork, and shrimp. It also comes with the special Vietnamese sweet fish sauce. This may sound so simple and yet it was a very filling dish for a salad. salad dish with texture and flavor that I still crave while I am writing this. 

Truth be told, while I love the fact that while I enjoyed everything I have tried from this Ca Phe Saigon home food delivery, the most important thing for me is that my family who consist of picky eaters all loved everything I ordered. That rarely happens, I tell you. I also love the fact that the personnel from Ca Phe Saigon, including the delivery guy were all accommodating and courteous.

Needless to say, this is one of my most enjoyable and satisfying food delivery dining experience this quarantine period. Highly recommended.
