The Fog City Creamery Ensaymada Ice Cream

September 03, 2012

Ice cream and ensaymada.  Who would have thought that these two unlikely pair could yield a beautiful marriage meant to be savored in this lifetime?

Enter The Fog City Creamery’s new addition to its line of artisanal ice cream, ENSAYMADA ICE CREAM.  The first ever ensaymada ice cream to hit the market.

Of the many collaboration I have witnessed, The Fog City Creamery and Homemade Treasures is definitely one of the best.   A combination of The Fog City Creamery’s Brown Butter Ice Cream and chunks of Homemade Treasures Ensaymada made from an heirloom recipe of the 1930s.

The Fog City Creamery’s Ensaymada Ice Cream is a lavish flavor that features the distinct taste of a classic ensaymada set against a backdrop of an indulging creamy rich brown butter ice cream.  It echoes interplay of buttery flavor, cheesy delight, and sugary treat meant to tease the palate and satisfy cravings.

This new flavor is all about taking something that is both well loved for years and transforming it into something new yet, still familiar.  The traditional essence of the classic ensaymada is ever present with a sexy flair of lavish ice cream. Indeed, rainy days is no excuse for indulging in something delightfully cool to the palate. After all, ensaymada and ice cream are some of the food most of us find truly comforting.

  1. I'd never have imagined Fog City would come up with an unusual local flavor. I'd usually associate that with Sebastian's. Hehehe! =)
