Cravings Celebrates 24th Anniversary with Cake and Coffee Festival

November 02, 2012

On their 24th year in the business, Cravings Group of Restaurants celebrated their anniversary by giving back to their loyal followers and community through Craving’s Coffee and Cake Festival. This delicious and sweet affair was held at Shangri-La Mall Atrium last October 25, 2012.

What started as a simple bakeshop in Quezon City has now evolved into a celebrated abode of delicious food and delectable sweets that every Filipino loves.  I remember having written about Center for Culinary Arts Manila’s anniversary at The Philippine Daily Inquire
r late last year and since Cravings is under in one roof with CCA, I heeded to Craving’s invite.

Aiming to stay true to their goal of giving back, this event is in partnership with Operation Smile, an organization that provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children throughout the world.   Incidentally, Operation Smile is also celebrating its 30th year of providing assistance to the aforementioned children in need.  The festival serve as their gateway to further introduced the program they have launched called “The Journey Home”.  This program aims to help 4,500 Filipino children and young adults in different parts of the country.

With these reasons for celebration, it proved to be one of the sweetest events this year.  And there couldn’t be more apt way to celebrate the 24 sweet years in the business than to dish out different cakes and sweet treats from the Cravings Group.  All guests are treated with unlimited servings of delectably sweet treats.  And since I am a big fan of dessert buffets, I could say that I enjoyed the celebration immensely.

Different Craving's sweet creations were not just on display, everything can be eaten by guests too!

If you have tried Craving's Eat-All-You-Can cakes promos you would know how satisfying their line of cakes are. During the event, we were treated with all these cakes and more.

I particularly like the mild sweetness and the subtle fruity flavor of these creme caramel on a spoon.  Mini fruit tarts were not just beautiful in the eyes, they are such a treat in the palate too.

The weather wasn't really cooperative that night but since it was raining truffle chocolates and cupcakes, it was worth the visit.

There were servings of pudding bread and bite size pies.
Cream Brulee on a shot glass was one of my favorites.

Pretty cupcakes with Hershey's Chocolate, Kisses, and Reeses' Peanut Butter Chocolate waving on top.  Cute chocolate pops perfect for the kids and kids at heart.

More chocolate truffles, chocolate pops, and cupcakes!

Coffee were also served by the charming people from The Coffee Academy.  Aside from the usual cappuccino, cafe latte, cafe mocha, there were two interesting flavor of brewed coffee that we got to try; Caramel Kettlecorn and Cinnamon Gingerbread.

Approachable ladies from Center for Culinary Arts were tasked to cut slices of cakes for the guests.

Pretty CCA ladies manning the cream puff pastry section.

There were also cooking demos facilitated by students of Center for Culinary Arts Manila.

During the event, guests who donated to Operation Smile gained access to Craving's cakes and other goodies sales. It was a perfect time to shop for goodies this holiday season.

By providing excellent gastronomical experiences to its patrons and by pioneering top-of-mind culinary trends, Cravings Group surely has more productive years to look forward to. Congratulations Cravings! More delicious years ahead!
