Of Container Van Rooms, Chicken Tim, Sky Eye, Cheese Tarts, and Koi

It was supposed to be just a random road trip, this drive to Tagaytay City. Then in a blink of an eye, I found our group scouting for place like a headless chicken where we could spend the night. Warm bed after a nice shower isn't a bad idea so no one opposed. The thing is, it was a holiday - all hotels we could think of were fully booked.

There's really nothing much to write about Tagaytay Haven Hotel save for the fact that it saved us from spending the night in the car like homeless runaway kids and that it is probably one of the most affordable hotels in Tagaytay.

But nope, no glaring review here, no rants either. It just served its purpose during our stay, no more no less.

A Revisit to Lola Cafe and Bar, Quezon City

Tuesday, March 1, 2016
I have blogged about Lola Cafe and Bar in Quezon City way back and have paid them a visit several more times after that. Some with old time friends, others with family, and the recent one which I am writing about right now was with some of my favorite Manila bloggers

Despite several competitors rapidly sprouting, it is still one of my favorite restaurants in Tomas Morato Quezon City area. Hence, a bloggers' lunch to check out new additions to Lola Cafe and Bar Menu highlights an excitement one weekend which would have been ordinary otherwise.

Since Lola's opening several years back, its residential-turned-into-restaurant charm is still palpable. There are several changes that transpired in terms of its appearance, menu, and the likes, but its vision to serve good food thankfully is still ever the same.

Orell's Glazed Banana Thins: It's a Crack Snack!

Monday, February 22, 2016
While munching on Orell’s Glazed Banana Thins, it made me realized that there are probably only three things that could make me come running home despite being already enroute to somewhere. First is when my parents summon me, second is when memory fails and wallet/phone/keys/common sense are left somewhere in my room, and third is when someone lures me to Chuck a u-ey because there’s a crack snack waiting for me at home.

Orell’s Glazed Banana Thins is such a crack snack I ditched a trip for it. Pathetic, you say?  I call it priorities.

To say that the trip I ditched was something I have a lukewarm enthusiasm for to begin with, would just sound like a sorry excuse.  So despite it being the truth, I don’t mind settling for another statement that also rings true – I have an unequivocal love for banana chips.  When dodging my excessive meat consumption, banana chips for me is like beef jerky – I eat it like it’s nobody’s business.
