Staycation at B Hotel Alabang and Bellevue Manila [Day One]

April 22, 2014

The news about a weekend hotel staycation at B Hotel and Bellevue Hotel Manila both located in Alabang, Muntinlupa came in a form of an enthusiastic email from one of my blogger friends Jane of Sugar and Spice blog. I just came from a week of meatless diet and I was dead set on slowly introducing my system to meat again. Slowly was the operative word. But then the Universe had another plan.

Jane’s email held a promise of fun and food-filled weekend with some of Manila Food Bloggers I consider my friends. While the entire itinerary presented to us was downright enticing, I was on a fence. Mainly because I feared that three days of non-stop eating would screw up my system big time after having had the meatless diet the previous week. Good thing though that my good friend Pickiest Eater’s unwavering enthusiasm was and is always contagious. Also, Jane’s undeniably entertaining email of an invite was too charming to reciprocate with regrets. Hence, I fired an en email to Jane with a big yes. Best decision, I must say.

HOTEL STAYCATION IN MANILA. Staycation at B Hotel in Alabang and Bellevue Hotel Manila
We are a group of more than 10 bloggers. Due to the season when hotels are mostly booked for the upcoming holidays, half of our group was assigned to stay at Bellevue Manila while the other half was assigned to B Hotel, the Bellevue Manila’s sister hotel. I was part of the group who was assigned to B Hotel and while I have not yet experienced a staycation in a “business hotel” (save for one overnight stay at some 3-star hotel wherein I was assigned to write a feature about their renovation) and was a bit apprehensive about it, I was confident that given the company I will be joining, not to mention the exciting itinerary, I knew that it will be an epic weekend staycation. And it was.

The Bellevue Hotels and Resorts

B Hotel is a sister hotel of Bellevue Manila that mainly caters to business travelers. 20 minutes away from the international airport via Skyway, B Hotel is perfect for travelers who are conducting business in the area. It has 152 guest rooms divided into three categories: Standard King (90 rooms) Standard Twin (54 rooms) and Penthouse Suite (8 rooms).

Aside from the rooms, B Hotel also features 1 function room, mini gym, Prime Café, Pastry Corner, basement parking, and wi-fi internet access. They also offer 24 hour laundry services, in-room massage services, and daily shuttle services to nearby Alabang commercial and financial districts.

We arrived at B Hotel around lunchtime with one of my favorite couples Richie and Rina with baby Rain and Manang Yaya, and Euge. The itinerary said that the check in time is at 12noon before a buffet lunch at B Hotel’s Prime Café.

I was assigned a Penthouse Suite together with my cousin Euge. The thing that greeted us upon entering the suite was a welcome gift from B Hotel.

The Penthouse Suite features a decent floor area spacious enough for two to three person. The living room area has the usual sofa set and an LCD TV attached to the wall.

The mini kitchen which also serves as a dining area has a ample storage cabinets, mini refrigerator, induction stove top, and a microwave oven. Electronic kettle was also provided since there are complimentary coffee and tea daily, aside from the bottled water.

The room has a queen size bed with floor to ceiling window overlooking Alabang commercial district. Both the living room and the bedroom has a mini patio but unfortunately, due to city ordinance in the area, doors leading to it must be kept locked.

The bedroom also has a business table facing the wall wherein another LCD TV was attached.

I find the closet spacious enough to house clothes and belongings fit for two people. Safety box is also provided as well as some laundry plastic, phone directories, bath robes, and a hair blower.

The bathroom is also spacious and provided with bathroom essentials such as lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, all of which are in green tea variant and replenished everyday. Towels were neatly folded and placed on top of the sink area. And yes, there's bath tub.

The room was very simple, clean, and spacious enough. I loved the way it looked during daytime and was equally impressed come night time.

After we checked in to our rooms and took photos of it, we immediately head to B Hotel's Prime Cafe where a lunch buffet spread was waiting for us.

During lunchtime Jane, which by then we fondly addressed as the Queen of the South together with her lovely kids handed us goodies from some of the generous sponsors of our staycation.

These sponsors includes Pink Wasabi, Sample Room, and Madil among many others. People behind these brands were generous enough to provide us sample of their products during our stay. If you have been following me on Instagram, you would see some shout out to these fabulous people. With that said,

Related post: Gratitude to our sponsors!

After our buffet lunch at the Prime Cafe, it would be noble to tell you that we just head on to our room to have some rest and enjoy the tranquility and satisfaction that B Hotel was providing us during that time.

But no.

After lunch, some of us headed to Chairman Wang's Prime Beef Noodle Restaurant who also invited us to visit them while we are in Alabang. (No, they are not related to the Bellevue Hotels and Resorts Business, they are just generous and excited that most of us bloggers from the north visited their area, muchos gracias Chairman Wang's)

Non-stop eating, I know. I told you, we had an interesting itinerary!

After our snack at Chairman Wang's our itinerary dictates a fun time at the poolside of Bellevue Hotel which is roughly ten minutes drive away from b Hotel. Sad to say that I missed the fun since I need to go back to our suite to unpack and do some work I took with me.

But I heard that some of our fellow bloggers had a grand time especially that another sponsor, Super Sized PH provided some super sized board games for everyone to enjoy. Snacks were also provided

It was a total bummer that I missed it but after my work, it gave me a time to enjoy the art paintings at the ground floor of B Hotel which fellow art geeks like me may find equally enjoyable.

Come dinner time, we all head to the Phoenix Court of Bellevue Manila for the Dimsum-All-You-Can treat. There were ample of choices that I feel somehow felt good that I skipped the afternoon snack at the poolside!

Kat's Cafe also sent us boxes of cupcakes during the dinner. I've tried all of them and I find it really impressive for its price.

After the dinner at Phoenix Court, I was dad tired and retreated immediately to our suite. The first day of our staycation was epic in itself that I cannot believed we still have two more days of endless eating and having fun.
