I have a feeling something amazing is about to happen in the coming days.  As someone who loves Hallyu, K-POP, and everything Korean, I am so excited for this!

Today, I woke up having in mind one of the best meals I've had this year so far - the Pollo a la Brasa set and the Barley Risotto with mushroom, bacon, and leeks from Viajé by Kev. I had it on a lunch time one Friday and as what a great meal could do, it literally washed away all the stress of the week and made me hanker for endless possibilities of good meals in the coming days. 

I could say it was the kind of meal that do not just nourishes the body, but feed the soul as well. 

There's a lot of things that's already been written on the internet about chef Kevin Uy and his brainchild Viajé. Just a few clicks in the world wide web and you would know that Viajé by Kev is an interpretation of what chef Kevin Uy learned for having been exposed to many cultures from his travels and work experiences - with heavy emphasis on bringing adventure to the plate.

If you have been reading this blog for quite a while now, you would probably have an idea how much I love seafood. I have co-authored a book, a restaurant guide published by Hinge Inquirer way back, and my section of the food was all about seafood. Given a choice between meat and seafood, I always pick seafood in a heartbeat.

Given this, I am excited to write about and share with you a recent discovery, Belly Jaw's Seafood and More and its sister business Cheatday Frozen Meat and Seafood Supply.

Beautiful, vibrant, and delicious - these are some of the words on top of my head when thinking about Indian Food. This rich and sophisticatedly spices-laden food is my craving as of late. Good thing here in Metro Manila, we have Greendot Indian Food Catering as one of the trusted Indian food purveyor people can rely on when Indian Food craving hits hard.

Good thing about Greendot Catering is that they do food delivery service, hence you may enjoy an Indian Feast right at the comfort of your own home especially during this time of quarantine. India is, up to this day one of the countries I have been wanting to visit if only to experience their beautiful culture and fell more in love with their food. Since our current situation dictates that it might not be happening soon, I am glad that we can still enjoy authentic Indian cuisine, all thanks to food businesses such as Greendot. 

Of Adobo and our Frontliners

I was not looking into posting this. Especially not here on my blog. 

"But when you give to someone in need, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing." - that's written on Matthew chapter 6 verse 3 of the bible. It's a cardinal rule to most catholic family like ours, when you give to the needy, do it secretly. 

The photos here were taken while we were preparing food and distributing it to some of our frontliners including those manning the check points we were aiming to feed and extend help to. All of it were taken with my beat-up mobile phone and were meant only for personal consumption - forced of habit because I'm a blogger, also, a remembrance of some sort. 

"Ma'am, baka pwede nyo po i-post sa Facebook, para makita ng iba. Para ma-inspire din po sila magpadala ng tulong. Nabubuhayan po kame ng loob pag nakikita namin na hindi po kame nakakalimutan."  

After hearing those words from one of the frontliners in between spoonfuls of the adobo and rice that my family and I prepared for them, I know I have a promise to keep. 

A Festive Lunch at Brotzeit, Shangri-La Mall

One of the best things about holiday season is the chance to get together with friends you have not seen for a long while. I really felt that when I had a chance to have a holiday lunch at Brotzeit in Shangri-La Mall with my KTG Bloggers Family. It was a special lunch filled with catching up stories, gift giving, and of course, great food and amazing German beers one can only find at Brotzeit. 

You see, ever since I started working in corporate again, rarely do I get to join my KTG Family during food events. That's pretty obvious by the lack of posts here on my blog this year. Hopefully, once I get the hang of things, I can juggle my blogger/vlogger's life (Yas! I am also on YouTube!) and my life as a salary woman.

For now, I am just so happy that I got the chance to join them at Brotzeit because, hey, it's Brotzeit. Remember it's one of our favorites?

Going home, I always pass by it but I didn't really pay attention thinking it's just another little Asian restaurant. Weekend is upon us and you know what I love most about weekends? It’s staying all day at home doing whatever that tickles my fancy. For instance, basking in the glory of finishing three thick books in a row, catching up on my favorite American TV series, gulping a 16-episode Asian drama in one go, or cleaning my room by throwing accumulated shits in the hope to successfully lead a minimalist lifestyle.

Funny thing is, most of the people who gets to know me cannot believe that I am homebody to the core. It puzzles people that being single and relatively young - as I have been told, I rarely go out. It puzzles them that the idea of staying at home after work week excites the hell out of me. 

Also, since I am a blogger with freelance job as a stylist and moonlights as a photographer, people have this preconceived notion that there is never a weekend when I am not out to look for adventure and new things to try.
